Well it happened. We got hitched or 0wn0rz3d. Got a new last name (Black). Got rained on. And saw London (got rained on some more).

We've been compiling pictures so please check out the Photo Gallery.

The wedding was a blast! It couldn't have better. Thanx go to all of those who helped out, catered, our friends, and family. It wouldn't have happened without you. We'd love to throw more such parties but they're rather expensive. ;) We'll give you an update on London soon.

Another wedding update: It's this Sunday! Woo!

If you didn't get the first update (I didn't have your email yet), please have a looksee on the site or I can resend it to you. Let me know! http://www.dasboat.com/wedding/news.html

So succumbing to parental pressure, I'm sending out this update:

1. What's the #1 question we've had? What should I wear?

Answers:

  1. A Costume (examples: Pirate, Milkman, Mechanic, Cousin It, Frankenstein, Fraggle/Doser whatever...)
  2. Dress - Only if you want to be a bridesmaid. If you don't want to wear a dress the whole time but want to be a bridesmaid, just throw on a dress for the ceremony. We're not picky except when it comes to moo-moos...
  3. Drag/Disco/Pimp/Power Blue Tuxedo/Elvis
  4. Wetsuit (I dunno. I thought this would be cool - maybe just because I really want one...)
  5. Birthday Suit... Oh wait! Scratch that!! Nevermind!
  6. None of the Above - Whatever you wear, make it interesting. Classy if you'd like - but not stuffy.
  7. All of the Above - I guess you can't really have All of the Above below "None of the Above". Lets make this a catch all: Whatever you wear, have something to throw over it since it could certainly be a cold October day on the ocean.

2. Transportation: Same as before. We'll have a van starting at 1pm from the Atrium/Travelodge and Parkwood Inn. There's been an addition of someone staying at the Super 8 so we can run service there too.

3. Directions: In addition to the directions given on the site, we'll be putting some road signs out when you get near the place. Orr's Island is very long and it's easy to miss the entrance to the place so hopefully the signs will help. If you hit the cribstone bridge you've gone too far! (You'll know the cribstone bridge when you see it.)

4. Groomsmen: Jamie's looking for a few good groomsmen to handle the flock of expected bridesmaids. If you're interested (male or female) please drop him a note: jaded@distemper.org

5. Drink: We were going to have Murphy's Irish Stout, but after careful consideration we dropped it. Too expensive and an average size beer drinker could probably only have 2 pints before being too full to drink anymore. We'll be getting cans of Guiness instead. We'll still have white/red whine and Spaten Munich Lager. If you're not interested in any of these, please feel free to bring your own. We'll have soda and water for the non-drinkers.

6. Food: We're looking forward to tasting the various foods via the family chefs. Thai is still the same. For burgers and hot dogs, we'll have chicken dogs and veggie burgers for those of alternative diets.

I think that's all for now. If you have any questions, want to help, or you get lost on the way give me or jamie a call:

See you then!

PS. For those of you who will not be coming, my apologies for sending this to you unless of course you find it interesting.

This is a little update for you about the J & A's UnConventional Wedding. I thought I'd send you this little note to keep you in the loop regardless if you're coming or not (there is no escape!).

1. Transportation: We've arranged for transportation from the Atrium and Parkwood Inn starting at 1pm to 10pm. The ceremony starts around 2 so that should be plenty of time. The van holds about 13 so we should be all set.

2. Parkwood Inn: If you're staying at the Parkwood Inn please let me know. I only know of a couple of people who are staying there right now. Transportation might be easier if we get a general head count of people staying there. They're both on the same strip so it's not a big deal.

3. Attire!: We've had alot of questions about "What should I wear"? Well, if you come in a dress or fashionable moo-moo you too could be a bridesmaid. If that's not your style, costumes, something flashy, or chicken outfits work just as well. Come to have fun but do bring something warm to throw over your shoulders. It will be the middle of October on the ocean.

4. Directions: The directions on the site are pretty good. An alternative to coming all the way on 95, you could take the 295 exit through Portland. 295 eventually becomes 95 again. It's a nicer ride and you get to see Portland. The timing is the same either way. Time to get to Brunswick takes about 2 1/2 hours from Boston. The "yacht club" is another 20-25 minutes from the hotels out on an island road (depending on who you get stuck behind).

5. Day before preparations: We'll be doing alot the day before down at the club. If you're in the area and not out hiking, kayaking, or leaf peeping and would like to lend a hand, let us know! I'm sure we can put you to work.

6. Food: We've got a mild selection of Thai Food and burgers and hot dogs still lined up. Feel free to bring your favorite recipe/food/munchie as well. We're looking forward to taste testing!

7. Piktures: We'll be taking some fancy piktures ourselfs of us all dolled up be we ask that you bring your digital or conventional camera. Please send me your picts after the wedding and ill post them on our gallery section. The more candid shots the better!

8. RSVP!!!: AND If you haven't RSVP'd yet, PLEASE DO!!! We haven't gotten alot of the cards back or many online responses. Just let us know if you're coming or if you're not. Please respond either way since our memories aren't so good (if you told us verbally). http://www.dasboat.com/wedding/rsvp.php

I think that's all for now. Less than 3 weeks...
